MOTHER&BABY Personal Training
What
These one-to-one, bespoke sessions are perfect for new mums who are serious about getting back into shape post-pregnancy. With a playroom right next to the well-equipped, modern studio, you are welcome to bring along your baby/ies, who can have a nap or play with age-appropriate toys on the play gyms whilst you workout. Bring along a buggy and you’ll be able to do part of the session outdoors – a lovely combination. Mother&Baby Personal Training is a safe, effective and pleasant way to get back into those pre-pregnancy jeans…
Each session is carefully planned according to how long ago you gave birth, whether or not you have diastasis recti (separation of the abdominals), and the postural changes that you may well have experienced due to pregnancy. Pilates and Swiss ball exercises will be incorporated into your bespoke sessions to help knit the abdominal muscles together again (if this is necessary), shorten the outer abdominals (which have been stretched in pregnancy), and strengthen postural muscles to help protect against back pain. Bite-sized chunks of exercise will also be prepared for you to do at home when your baby has a nap.
How
Personal training is particularly beneficial when there is continuity and although I am willing to – and sometimes do – provide one-off sessions for those wishing to seek general advice on exercising safely during the postnatal period, from experience I find that most people’s good intentions to exercise, fall by the wayside. Instead, I would suggest the following approach:
Let’s meet up at my studio for an initial chat so that you can tell me a bit about yourself, what exercise you enjoy doing and so on, and also to give you the opportunity to meet me (after all, you want to make sure that you will feel at ease with me as your PT!) and to see the studio. This will cost you nothing other than an hour or so of your time.
If and when you have decided that Mother&Baby personal training is for you, we will meet up again for a more detailed chat about your lifestyle, exercise regime (or otherwise!) and what you are aiming to achieve*. I will also do fitness tests, a postural analysis and will give you a food diary to fill in over the following week. Based on all that we will have discussed, the results of the fitness tests, and on the postural and nutritional analyses, we can then get going on exercise sessions that will be tailored specifically for you. This initial consultation costs £50.
Please do bear in mind that during the early postnatal period it is advisable to build up your fitness levels in a measured and progressive manner, as your body needs time to recover from the birth.
How Much
Personal training sessions may be booked and paid for in blocks of ten or twenty and become progressively cheaper the bigger the booking:
So if you book and pay for ten sessions, you will get a 5% discount and pay £380 instead of £400.
If you book and pay for twenty sessions, you will get a 10% discount, and pay £720 instead of £800.
If you are interested in Mother&Baby personal training and would like to pop round for a chat and to visit the studio, then please do contact me either via email (Joanna@zest4lifeuk.com), mobile (07899938032) or landline (01509 210269).
Shared Sessions
Another option that might work for you is 2Mothers&Babies personal training: if you are happy to exercise with another mother who has a similar level of fitness, at 65% of the cost – that’s £33 each – this is a competitive choice. And it’s fun! Moreover, the same discounts apply according to the number of sessions you book and pay for:
If you book and pay for ten 2Mothers&Babies sessions, you will get a 5% discount and pay £627 instead of £660 between the two of you.
With twenty sessions booked and paid for, you will get a 10% discount and pay £1188 instead of £1320 between the two of you.
Cancellations
With regard to bookings, please note that although I do my very best to be flexible – and I really do understand that life can unexpectedly get in the way of your PT sessions – I would appreciate it if cancellations could be made as far ahead as possible. Cancellations within 24 hours of our session will, unfortunately, have to be paid for. However, if your baby is unwell, 50% of the cost of the session will be carried over for you to use at a later date.
