Personal Pilates
What
Pilates is an incredibly useful tool for improving core stability – deep abdominal strength – which, in turn, helps to correct postural imbalances and significantly improve many forms of back pain. The advantages of having one-to-one Pilates sessions are twofold: firstly, they are perfectly tailored to your needs, to your specific posture-type and to any muscular imbalances and areas of tightness that you might be experiencing. Secondly, Pilates is a specialised form of exercise which requires excellent technique, otherwise it can, quite literally, be counterproductive.
In a one-to-one situation it is possible for me to ensure that you are working to the perfect level and pushing yourself to the point of challenge. In this way you will really notice the benefits:
- reduced back pain
- release of tension in the neck, back and shoulders
- firming of the abdominal area
- improved posture making you look and feel taller and slimmer.
When
To experience the benefits of Pilates, continuity is essential and although I do sometimes do one-off sessions, they are not what I would recommend. Instead, I would suggest the following approach:
Let’s meet up at my studio for an initial chat so that you can tell me a bit about yourself, why you are considering Pilates, and also whether you suffer from any particular back complaints and/or postural problems. This will cost you nothing other than ¾ of an hour or so of your time.
If and when you have decided that PersonalPilates is for you, we will meet up again for a more in-depth chat about your lifestyle, exercise regime (or otherwise!) and what you are aiming to achieve. I will also do a detailed postural analysis. If you have been seeing a physiotherapist or osteopath, I will also ask you to bring along any written reports you might have regarding back trouble you are experiencing. Based on all that we will have discussed, the results of the postural analysis and any reports that you bring along, I will then be able to prepare tailored core stability sessions for you. This initial consultation costs £40.
How Much
PersonalPilates sessions may be booked and paid for in blocks of ten or twenty and become progressively cheaper the bigger the booking:
- So if you book and pay for ten sessions, you will get a 5% discount and pay £380 instead of £400.
- If you book and pay for twenty sessions, you will get a 10% discount, and pay £720 instead of £800.
If you are interested in PersonalPilates and would like to pop round for a chat and to visit the studio, then please do contact me either via email (Joanna@zest4lifeuk.com), mobile (07899938032) or landline (01509 210269).
Shared Sessions
Sharing PersonalPilates sessions is another option which might prove of interest: if you are happy to exercise with just one other person, at 65% of the cost – that’s £33 each – this is a competitive choice. And it’s fun! Moreover, the same discounts apply according to the number of sessions you book and pay for:
If you book and pay for ten PersonalPilates sessions, you will get a 5% discount and pay £627 instead of £660 between the two of you.
With twenty sessions booked and paid for, you will get a 10% discount and pay £1188 instead of £1320 between the two of you.
Childcare
If childcare is a problem, you are most welcome to bring along your baby or toddler (who can have a nap or play with age-appropriate toys in the playroom right next to the studio) whilst you do your workout.
Cancellations
With regard to bookings, please note that although I do my very best to be flexible – and I really do understand that life can unexpectedly get in the way of your PT sessions – I would appreciate it if cancellations could be made as far ahead as possible. Cancellations within 24 hours of our session will, unfortunately, have to be paid for. However, if your child is unwell, 50% of the cost of the session will be carried over for you to use at a later date.
